What made you decide to become a Tutor with Valkyrie?

Teaching is my passion and to support others to improve their lives through learning making positive difference to my learners’ life. I have been involved in teaching over 25 years, delivering different subjects. During last few years I have been delivering Functional Skills to learners within hospitality sector and due to pandemic hit hospitality hard, my job was at risk. That’s when I decided to try different subject but staying within teaching as whenever there is restructuring, redundancies etc FS is the first one at risk so I saw the Valkyrie opportunity as a great way to start my new journey and I haven't regretted it since I was offered the position. It’s a dream come true.

Why do you like working for Valkyrie?

I must say, the support I have had been receiving from the management team and others as well as their welcoming manner and the working environment is very pleasant experience. I also, enjoy the flexibility and freedom to interact with my learners without the fear of being overseen or being micromanaged is giving me more room to improve and flourish in my role.

What makes Valkyrie different to other training providers in your view?

Flexibility, welcoming nature, trust in the team and how everyone is working differently following their individual working style, towards the same goal which is helping learners and achieving high standard set by Valkyrie without compromising the quality of delivery.

What key advice would you give to someone thinking about training with Valkyrie?

I would advise them “just do it”. Valkyrie does have a very supportive, thoughtful, determined and welcoming team who is always happy to help people achieve their goals, be it promotion or general learning.

What have been the highlights of your time with Valkyrie to date?

My personal highlight so far has been the feedback of my micro-teach and the delivery of workshop to ILM5 learners and again such positive feedback and how I managed to win the trust of learners and build a very positive rapport with them through my teaching style. I look forward to more highlights as my time with Valkyrie extends.

What are your personal and professional aspirations?

My short-term goals are to settle in and to have my own group of learners. Long-term goals are to achieve ILM5 qualifications and flourish in delivering Leadership and Management qualification. I would like to stay with Valkyrie and work my way up the ladder to be the lead in Valkyries Faculties or even work alongside quality Assurance department.
